The title of this track pays homage to an agent that I used to work with who has a similar-sounding name. However, the connection ends there. This is a straight ahead rock/pop ballad with an eighth note feel.
The key to playing a good feeling ballad is to relax and play just behind the beat, creating what is called the "pocket". Not a lot of notes are needed–just the right spots to put them in. Space is very important. Fills are normally best played with less notes and more eighth note-based rhythms, perhaps with some syncopation. Big, full sounding toms are preferable.
